fabrication facility contains 25,000 sq.
ft. of production space and is located
on a 3 acre site with an additional 24
acre laydown site a short distance from
the main facility. Our modern
fabricating facility is equipped with a
Laser Cutting Machine, Computer Plasma
Cutting Machine, 7.5 Ton Overhead Crane,
Computerized Press Brake, Precision Jig
/ Set up Table, Iron Workers, Shears,
Pipe Bending and Cutting Equipment,
Lathes, Welding Machines, and a
Magnatech Orbital Pipe Welding System.

Laurentian Steel Fabricators
Laurentian Steel Fabricators (LSF), a
subsidiary of Laurentian Energy
Corporation, is a leading custom steel
fabricator in Sydney, Nova Scotia. LSF
is situated on a 22-acre dockside
facility within the Sydport Marine
Industrial Park, and strategically
connected to water (Sydney Harbour),
rail (CBNS / CN Railways) and road
(100-series Highway) systems. Offshore
oil and gas supply vessels, bulk
carriers, product tankers, ferries,
coast guard vessels and ocean-going
barges have all loaded or been serviced
at our facility. LSF’s main fabrication
shop is 13,500 sq. ft. with an
additional 38,000 sq. ft. available for
larger scale projects. The main shop is
outfitted with a 350-ton press brake,
two 15-ton overhead cranes and an 8x19
ft. plasma profile table - equipment
which allows us to manage very large
fabrication projects.

Focal Technologies Corporation
Focal Technologies, a part of Moog
Components Group, has supplied
technology products and services to the
offshore petroleum, oceanographic,
seismic and maritime defense industries
for more than 20 years. Operating from a
50,000 sq. ft. facility located in
Dartmouth, Nova Scotia, Focal
specializes in the design, production
and installation of custom electrical
slip rings, fiber optic rotary joints,
swivels and multiplexer solutions for
the harshest offshore environments.
Besides state-of-the-art production
equipment and processes, the plant
features a range of specialized
automatic testing equipment. This
includes facilities for testing pressure
tolerant multiplexers and a test rig
that is capable of applying up to 30,000
psi and 300 degrees celsius.
